After you create your survey, in the 3rd step of "Target Audience," you can choose how frequently it appears while selecting the targeting criteria. You can also set it up so that the survey is shown to a user only once.
For example, you can set a custom or NPS survey to appear once every 30 days by setting its frequency, as shown below:
