What kind of data is captured by Instabug and sent with bug and crash reports?

A plethora of data is captured automatically; this ranges from log data to device attributes to full stack traces.

Instabug captures a lot of information with every bug and crash report. Some of this data includes the following:

  • OS version

  • App version

  • Battery status

  • Internet connection

  • Network connection

  • App's current view.

  • User steps:

In addition, we capture the steps the user performed between launch and sending the report. When a bug is reported, you can also see the app's view hierarchy. In the case of a crash, we attach the full stack trace of the error.

In addition to the previously mentioned automatically captured data, you can manually add any desired logs, user attributes that will help you identify the user or extra file attachments.

Location data is also collected; however, if you need to disable it, please contact our support team using the chat bubble at the bottom right corner of your dashboard. They'll be more than happy to assist you.

⚠️ By default, Instabug does not collect PII, such as name, email address, phone number, or physical address.

For more specific details, please refer to our documentation regarding the content of bug reports and crash reports for iOS.
